Artist Opportunities
Composer-in-Residence & Ensemble-in-Residence Applications (Open Year-Round)
Composer-in-Residence and Ensemble-in-Residence applications are accepted year-round but must be received by January 1st to be considered for the following three years. Applicants are welcome to resubmit updated materials as often as they like, but a new application must be submitted a minimum of every three years to be eligible for consideration.
(Example: Submissions made by January 1, 2025 are eligible for the 2026, 2027 and 2028 Festival Years. A new application must be submitted by January 1, 2028 to be considered for 2029 and beyond.)
Call for Scores Applications
The International Call for Scores application opens each Spring and closes in late Summer. Applicants submit works new or existing works to be performed by the Ensemble-in-Residence at the Feature Concert during the annual Festival. Applications must be resubmitted each year, and late applications are not eligible for consideration.
Results for the 2025 Festival were sent on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Applications for the 2026 Festival will be available beginning in Spring 2025.
Music Marathon Applications
Performers are invited to submit an application for the in-person and virtual Music Marathon. Applicants of any gender are welcome to apply, but must submit programs of works by women-identifying composers to performed during the annual Festival. Applications must be resubmitted each year. Late applications are considered on a case-by-case basis.
Results for on-time applications were sent on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Applications for the 2026 Festival will be available beginning in Spring 2025.
Scholarly Symposium Applications
Presenters are invited to submit an application for the Scholarly Symposium. Applicants of any gender are welcome to apply, but must submit presentation topics that feature research connected to women-identifying composers to presented during the annual Festival. Applications must be resubmitted each year. Late applications are considered on a case-by-case basis.
Results for on-time applications were sent on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Applications for the 2026 Festival will be available in Spring 2025.
Composition Workshop Applications
Women-identifying composers are invited to submit an application for the Composition Workshop. Selected composers will be paired with an advisor who will provide feedback and suggestions on a work in progress, culminating in a live workshop during the annual Festival. The Ensemble-in-Residence will perform the work as part of this live workshop. Applications must be resubmitted each year. Late applications are not eligible for consideration.
The 2025 Composition Workshop Application closed on September 29, 2024. Applications for the 2026 Festival will be available beginning in Spring 2025.

- Our applications are a two-step process. Please be sure to complete both steps.
- STEP 1: Begin by fully completing the Application Document. The links below will create copies of Google Docs, which you can complete online or download for Microsoft Word.
- STEP 2: Submit that document (as a Word document or Google Doc) through the Submission Form.
