2012 Chamber Orchestra Concert

The Women Composers Festival of Hartford ushers in its largest concert with the help of NYC- based chamber orchestra, the Curiosity Cabinet Ensemble. The Chamber Orchestra Concert also features The Connecticut Trio – in residence at Connecticut State University – opening the concert with View from Mt. Nebo by festival guest composer Dr. Judith Shatin. The remainder of the evening is devoted to 20th/21st century chamber orchestral works written by a variety of women composers, including Dr. Karen Power – winner of the 2012 Women Composers Festival Composition Competition.┬áBoth Dr. Shatin and Dr. Power will be present to discuss their music.

The Chamber Orchestra Concert takes place Friday, March 9, 7:00PM, at the Central Connecticut State University’s Founders Hall. Admission is FREE.
